Summer is a chance to explore and experience! And many of our dancers had unique opportunities to do just that this summer in Alberta, New Jersey, New York and Dublin!
Lily joined the Riverdance Summer School at Trinity College in Dublin for the second year in a row. This annual event is an opportunity for dancers from all over the world to learn Riverdance show material from members of the current cast, followed by a showcase for family and friends. It's a fantastic opportunity for Lily and we couldn't be prouder of her. Here she is striking a pose with current Riverdance lead, James Greenan:
While Lily headed overseas, Bree and Emma flew to Union, New Jersey, where they joined a cast of over 100 dancers and musicians for Studio2Stage. In 9 days, along with top dancers from all over the world, they mounted a full stage production at Kean University in New Jersey and also performed live to enthusiastic crowds in Times Square in New York! Both of them came home exhausted (of course), but loving every moment of the experience. You can read a bit more about their trip in this article in the Okotoks Western Wheel. And here they are looking fierce and getting set for their final performance:
Finally, Ronan, Hannah and Sadie hit up Reels in the Rockies Irish Dance Summer Camp in Nordegg, Alberta, where they learned from some of the industry's best - and tackled some terrifying rope courses! Looks like it was a fun experience for both of them, and a chance to make some new friends who are also crazy about Irish dance!
These are just a few of the summer adventures that our dancers have been on this year, and we can't wait to hear from the rest of you when we start regular classes again in a couple weeks. Enjoy the rest of August and see you all soon!
